Fayette County, Pennsylvania, commemorates Black history through the year by honoring the region's rich African American legacy.

Community Events 

                                                                                                                   Fayette County, Pennsylvania, honors Black history                                     through annual events such as the Fayette County African American Traveling History Museum, which showcases the region's rich African American heritage, including its role in the Underground Railroad and the contributions of prominent Black community figures.

 

Additionally, the East End United Community Center in Uniontown hosts events like "Celebrate Our Shared Heritage," marking milestones such as the anniversary of the African American History & Cultural Center of Fayette County.

​

These yearly celebrations, often held during Black History Month, provide opportunities for the community to engage with and honor the enduring legacy of African Americans in the region.

January : Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast - The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, hosted by the East End United Community Center, brings the community together each January to honor Dr. King's legacy through reflection, unity, and service.

March :  Cash Bash -  The East End United Community Center's annual March Cash Bash in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, is a lively fundraiser featuring prize drawings and community engagement, with proceeds supporting the center's programs for youth, families, and seniors.

April :  Calendar Party -  The annual April Calendar Party in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, hosted by the East End United Community Center, is a vibrant community fundraiser featuring themed tables, raffles, and social activities to support the center's programs.

May :  Golf Scramble - This spirited fundraiser held at Duck Hollow Golf Course, is an annual May Golf Scramble in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and features team competitions, prizes, and community camaraderie to help support East End United Community Center's operational costs.

June :  Juneteenth CelebrationThe annual Juneteenth Unity Fest in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, co-hosted by the East End United Community Center and One Voice One Community, is a vibrant celebration of freedom and unity featuring live entertainment, cultural exhibits, local vendors, and family-friendly activities over the course of several days.

​​​​​Summer TBD :  Hoops and Scoops -  The East End United Community Center's annual "Hoops and Scoops" event in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, combines basketball, ice cream, and community engagement to foster positive relationships between youth and local law enforcement in a fun, inclusive setting.

August :  Community Spirit Day. - A free event put on by the East End United Community Center and the Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration to bring together the community for a day of fun, food, and friends!​

​

September :  Fall Gala - The annual Fayette County Gala is an exciting evening of celebration and fundraising, honoring the supporters, staff, and community members who make East End United Community Center a vital force for positive change.

​

​​November:  Fayette Gives - Fayette Gives is an annual community-wide giving day in Fayette County that rallies support and donations to strengthen local nonprofits and foster collective impact.
